The U.S. Air Force Security Forces Member saluting with his loving rescued companion dog by his side looking up at him is iconic to the Companions for Heroes' brand. When David Sharpe, our founder, was U.S. Air Force Security Forces, he lost some of his buddies to suicide and when David tried to commit suicide, thumb on the trigger with the barrel of a .45 caliber in his mouth, his rescued pit bull mix, Cheyenne, interrupted him by licking his face during the act. Distracting him from taking his own life. We call it "Divine Interruption." The salute symbolizes David's love for God, country and his rescued companion. The hearts symbolize the unconditional love and bond David and Cheyenne had for each other. Cheyenne has since joined Our Maker (July 10, 2015), but she is still with us and YOU with every purchase of this hoodie.
